He meets the colorful staff, catches up with his coworker ex-girlfriend, and watches as a forgetful woman seemingly disappears off the face of the earth.Oddly enough, few are disturbed by such an occurrence, leading the town's only outsider to jump-start a hasty investigation that leads him down a rabbit hole of depths he never expected.Rook's nosiness in search of justice and reveals a pair of unlikely suspects. The hardest part about his case is getting anyone to believe him, as the model husband and wife have perfect reputations. Clean slates. No witnesses.

ROOK ✲ 23 YEARS OLD ✲ DETECTIVEA new face to the Grand Rock Police Department. Only known as Rook (sometimes Rookie), a people-pleasing young man that often finds himself in trouble. He has a particularly feminine face and is sometimes mistaken for such. He's missing a small notch in his left ear from an incident as a child. He went to highschool with Candy and even dated her for a brief period before going to college. It was mutual, but he doesn't seem entirely over it.♡ VIDEO GAMES, WESTERNS/COP MOVIES, ORANGE

CANDY ✲ 24 YEARS OLD ✲ RECORDS CLERKA recently-graduated art student looking for a place in the world. Right now she's just biding her time working at the police station and living with a Craigslist roommate. She doesn't particularly care for the work, more so the people and the things she can get away with when there's nothing to do; which is fairly frequent.Self-proclaimed head of the 'Party Council' that brings light into the drab beige office.Native to Grand Rock, though her parents live inland where the weather is nicer. She draws, paints, and creates music to vent her frustrations. A grounded person that finds comfort in passions and helping those around her. LOCKE ✲ 60 YEARS OLD ✲ SERGEANTA simple man whose greatest motto is tough love. But he won't admit that so easily, especially when the rookie still has so much to work on.A native of Grand Rock and adoptive father of high-school outcast Gloom. Beloved by all for his paternal manner and ability to keep the sleepy town at peace for so long - though most would say it's not necessarily a challenge.Everyone insists he stops smoking, though. GLOOM ✲ 19 YEARS OLD ✲ STUDENTA lonesome college freshman. It was only when she graduated high school that she made real friends with the local punk crowd consisting of roughly four other people. Relentlessly flippant, contrarian, and seems to know a lot more than she should.Gloom frequents the basement of the local arcade where the five of them slack around and drink. She doesn't speak much about how she came to be adopted by Grand Rock's police sergeant, but that fact never ceases to embarrass her in spite of his attempts to genuinely connect.♡ GOTH METAL, RAINY DAYS, HER CD COLLECTION

SUGAR ✲ 44 YEARS OLD ✲ HOSPITAL DIRECTORSurgeon, pathologist, and head of the Grand Rock Hospital. Her emotions and motives are difficult to decipher, what with the constant poker face and naturally arched eyebrows.Sugar idolizes a philosophy of human progressivism and peak health, which people claim is why she's so strict with her employ. But it seems like she wouldn't have it any other way. She tends to fill multiple roles and has no problem doing it - impromptu surgeries and lab work seeming to be her favorite.Notably polite and monotone prose. Good with patients and staff despite her cold demeanor. She dotes on her husband in passing, making light of their admirable relationship no couple in town can seem to match.♡ HER JOB, HORSE RACES, BOTANY

SPICE ✲ 45 YEARS OLD ✲ FORENSIC SCIENCE PROFESSOR
An eccentric and charming man that wears a different tie every day, oftentimes flaunting a sliver of whimsical panache. Students claim he's very expressive and passionate; a brilliant and beloved educator with a fondness for his thick silver briefcase.Favored among his coworkers for his ability to fit into any conversation. He has a lot of magazine subscriptions, which his wife manages. It's often wondered how they get along so well despite their polar opposite personalities. He's seen taking her out to expensive dinners or out of town for shopping some nights out of the week.Contrary to popular belief, he's the homemaker. A carpenter and cook in his spare time. NINER ✲ 25 YEARS OLD
A man in the employ of a strange benefactor. Not much is known about his work, but it's clear he doesn't quite belong here. He meets Rook at a very convenient time, as it becomes known he wants to quit his job but it's proven to be close to impossible. They string each other along, using their respective knowledge and skills in efforts to fry a much bigger fish.A nihilistic, matter-of-fact person with a pretty bleak outlook on life. He sees himself as a cog in the machine and feels a sense of belonging in that. For a pretty rough-looking guy he has a few rather expensive things, but is in no way materialistic. Niner speaks rather informally and takes a while to warm up to conversation. He's also quite literal, honest, and has a pretty dry sense of humor - if not sarcastic.♡ MECHANICS, FOOD, ROCK MUSIC

WI ✲ 40 YEARS OLD ✲ SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Rook's mother. Wi, commonly meaning 'sun' in Lakota, is a bright and energetic woman with a passion for taking care of others. Albeit a little overbearing at times, she reinforces the fact that it's simply because she cares. The same goes for some traditions she's held onto since they moved from the midwest. While appearing as a model parent, Rook's constant pleading to allow him to grow up leads her to take a begrudging hands-off approach - especially after he returned from college. She tends to act a little immature to keep in touch with her 'young side'.She's constantly searching for more work to sustain herself and her own mother who lives with them. In her rare off-time she enjoys beading, going out with her many friends, and learning cosmetology like she's always wanted.♡ 80's DISCO, TEACHING KIDS, GOING ON DATES

EVERYTHING NICE is a heavy-handed series with a lot of themes relating to...✲ death / murder
✲ human experimentation / trafficking / extortion
✲ gender identity & sex
✲ mental health / grief
✲ past abuse & enduring trauma
✲ toxic masculinity & ableism
✲ period-appropriate bigotryAll in all, EN's general message relates to Rook's experiences as a somewhat sheltered and confused young adult thrust into a very, very bad series of situations. Please read with caution and an open mind.

✲ WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM?
My boyfriend was very high and texted me a concept he came up with while sitting in the bathtub. We liked it so much that I decided to jump ahead and create something more than just a synopsis. Now we're here.✲ WHAT DO YOU USE TO CREATE THE COMIC?
Clip Studio Paint!✲ WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS?
Indie comic creators I've followed for years as well as my own upbringing loving media I can personally relate to. Growing up in the rural part of the Pacific Northwest also lends to much of the setting and characters.✲ WILL EN EVER BE RELEASED PHYSICALLY?
That's the plan! I'm not sure how or when, but if EVERYTHING NICE can breach the barrier of the internet and reach a wider audience, I can die happy.
EVERYTHING NICE is a work-in-progress and some aspects of the project are subject to changes both major and minor.
It is an experiment and exploration of themes, character dynamics, and art. Please do not indulge if any themes disturb you.
